Mistakes creates Success.

Hannah Montana always have some wise words to sing. Weather if its about learning all the bones in the body or being a true friend, she was the one to listen to. Once again, this is Hannah Montana and not our modern day Miley Cyrus. One of my favorites may be Nobody’s Perfect. Within this song she sings about not being perfect and  that’s okay. We all make mistakes and we all have those days where everything goes wrong.

Take a peek at Hannah’s enthusiastic fans.

Looking back, they’ve probably realized that they’ve made a mistake by uploading this video to Youtube. But you know what? It’s okay.

Mistakes are not failures

In our society, people are shamed on for making mistakes of any sort. Growing up in a world like this, it only influenced me to fear making mistakes. I overcame this fear by viewing it from different perspective.

Instead of looking at those negatives within the mistakes, look at the positive aspects that is incorporated with it. Those mistakes will help will help you grow. It taught you a lesson, showed you an experience, it ultimately will help you improve in the future.

The famous quote that Edison brought to life best expresses this idea. “I haven’t failed. I just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”

We need to look at mistakes not as failure, but success. You succeeded in learning how not to do something. You’ve learned not to touch the hot stove. You’ve learned not to speed. You’ve learned not to do it that way… And because you’ve learned it not to do it that way you will continue to discover a different method.

Through those experiences, you will come to find the end success, by not making those mistakes.

Fearing others

A dominant reason why I feared making mistakes was because I feared how other people would look at me. I wanted to create the perfect image that wasn’t reality. Thoughts like these arose to my mind:

“Should I hide who I really am because I’m not perfect like everybody else?”
“If people find out the mistakes I have, they’ll never be friends with me…”
“If my crush knows, she’ll never like me.”

Clearly I wasn’t comfortable about my image. I was too worried trying to mold my life into perfection as if it was a piece of Play-Doh that had a blueprint of a sand castle. It just won't work out. (Sorry for bad analogy. Any better recommendations? lol)

Once again, I had to view this from a different perspective. I have to understand that,

“Nobody’s perfect, Everybody has those days.”

Speaking of learning from experience, a classmate of mine have experienced plenty of time in college. She's what people call a Super-Senior. Through her experience, she learned the what to do in college and what not to do. Check out her blog. This blog has helped me through the toughest days of college. Sometime instead of making that mistake, read about it to avoid it. Enjoy!
